Naperville, United States - August 18, 2020 /PressCable/ —
In 2020, many sports have been canceled for the year as many league organizations try to figure out the best way to hit the COVID-19 crisis to let their professional players, well, play.
The NBA took the “bubble” approach, and it so far seems to be the best way to keep its athletes from becoming infected. The “bubble” means that the players, managers, and everyone involved in basketball games live in hotels in Florida away from their families, friends, and public.
No tickets are sold, no audience will watch, and daily health checks ensure all the people in the “bubble” have not come down with COVID-19.
With no audience to cheer them on, the players may have been met with silence, if it wasn’t for four DJs who came into the bubble with the players. DJ Shawna is one of only four DJs invited to come and stay with the NBA players and is playing celebratory music to keep players excited.
DJ Shawna’s DJ roots are over a decade long. She has DJ’d for the NCAA both the Women’s College World Series and Women’s Final Four. She was the official DJ for the University of Wisconsin athletics and Marquette University, and in 2019, she opened for Lizzo at Summerfest. She is also the official DJ for the Milwaukee Bucks.
She views her time in the bubble as probably the safest place she could be when she talked to CBS 58 Morning News. “The NBA has done an incredible job of ensuring our safety and our health are put first above everything else.”
Shawna also views her time in the “bubble” as two-fold. “A: I think we’re in the middle of a huge social experiment that I’m a guinea pig for, willingly, and loving,” she says. “B: We’re also in the middle of one of the biggest equality movements that we’ve ever been a part of. I think players have done a phenomenal job of utilizing their platform, making us safe, and then making sure that people recognize that black lives matter, and this is so much bigger than the game of basketball.”
Shawna defies the odds with a diverse career; she is a motivational speaker, an entrepreneur, a children’s book author, and owns a clothing line called Dare To Be Clothing. Her international presence inspires people all over the world. She continues her journey as the NBA takes on their greatest experiment yet.
The NBA Bubble
The 2020 NBA Bubble or Orlando Bubble is the isolation zone with strict rules created by the National Basketball Association (NBA) to protect its players from the COVID-19 pandemic during the 2019-20 season.
This process has been effective in getting the NBA season to its penultimate goal, that being the NBA playoffs currently taking place with the top seed The Milwaukee Bucks set to play Orlando Magic in the playoffs round 1 on Tuesday 8/18 at 18.30.
The game between the Bucks and Orlando Magic one is a game not to be missed when two of the tournaments big hitters meet for what promises to be an epic game.
The 2020 NBA playoffs venue
The 2020 NBA Playoffs will continue to be played at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, located at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
Tuesday’s games are as follows:
